For several years I have been wearing mesh uppers for two reasons: they are very light due to the thin construction and they breathe very well (although when it rains they also get wet, since the upper is porous). These shoes are definitely not breathable as there is a solid layer of material underneath the mesh upper. I suppose someone who wants a mesh shoe for looks and not function can still buy this shoe. They were also slightly heavier than my current mesh shoes (Maiitrip). The outsole feels quite slippery, which is also surprising for a running shoe. Perhaps the outer layer wears down with use and the sole becomes less slippery, which happened with a pair of my classic shoes. These shoes are very similar to Skechers mesh sneakers. Unlike the Skechers which have a low rise on the sides of the upper, these shoes have a standard height which I prefer. However, they also seem to have a more slippery sole than the Skechers (especially after the shoe has been worn for a while and the ridges/valleys on the sole start to wear down).
