I got them because I got paranoid about our contactless credit cards and the rumors about it - some strangers remotely scan passport details . The size of the CC fits my wallet quite nicely and each fits two comfortably. The larger one is perfect for a passport and after hiking around Ireland with it in my pocket for about a week it has had a lot of visible wear at the top but doesn't look like it will tear or fail any time soon. I suppose I could test them out by trying contactless CC while still in one, but I haven't, so I have no idea how effective they are, but I'm pretty sure they actually are function. Instead, my wife opted for an RFID-blocking wallet big enough to hold a passport, actually with a special passport holder. We men usually have smaller wallets, so I haven't found anything like this. I could still use one of the big ones for my passport and get an RFID blocking wallet for my credit cards. But if you have a situation where this doesn't work, this is a good, cheap, quick (albeit ugly), and (presumably) effective solution.
