This was an unexpected fit. good surprise At first I thought it would be small and short but surprisingly it fit exactly how I hoped for my 7 year old. ELASTIC! The top part covers the middle part of her stomach and the leg parts are just above her knees. She loves it and I love it about her. Other shorts we've bought in a similar fabric tend to bunch up in the stomach and bottom.
