Review on Panasonic Expandable Cordless Phone System With Call Block And Answering Machine - 1 Cordless Handsets - KX-TGD530M (Metallic Black) by Barbara Gonzalez

Call stopped working in less than 5 months

The first few months this phone was pretty good. It took me a lot of effort to figure out how to actually silence my phone and set up calls in a specific way to actually turn my phone and answering machine off completely when I need to take a nap. . It took a bit of trial and error, but eventually I got it right and the phone worked great for me. The phone's sound quality is excellent, the phone's speaker is the best I've ever used, but the answering machine's sound quality leaves a lot to be desired. If the caller speaks softly and indistinctly, then everything is distorted and difficult to understand. But that's why I give the phone 2 stars. The call started dropping for no reason. It worked fine for a few months and then started making half rings instead of full size rings. So I had to change the ringer setting from 5 rings to a maximum of 7 so I had time to get to the phone before the machine answered. The caller only hears 4 rings but my phone actually rings 7 times but the calls are kinda short. Sometimes the bell rings as if it didn't want to ring at all. Panasonic support recommended doing a factory reset, but that would erase everything on the phone, all stored phone numbers, my greeting, all my phone settings, etc. And I can't remember all the settings I had to change in order. to get the phone working the way I wanted it to, so I don't really want to do a reset. I have a feeling the phone is dying and it won't be long anyway. I bought it in early October and it's now in early March and it's been having ringing issues for a few weeks. Update: I did a factory reset and the ringtone still doesn't work.
