I had a similar lampshade (bought at Walmart) for another car that had sat in the Florida sun for two years - and was still going strong when I got the new car got. This particular shade seemed to last a lot longer than the other and I was very happy with it - for several months, winter and spring. I noticed purple dust in my car and it wasn't until a few days later that I noticed the nylon strap (to close it) and the binding were falling apart. Since then the tape has completely fallen off, the mount leaves purple dust everywhere, including on the inside of the glass after installation, all over the dashboard, on the seats, on the floor. It would have been a great product if the mount had been strong, but it didn't even last a Florida spring, let alone a Florida summer. Too bad about the sun visor!
