I like this cable, but I ended up deducting a star because of that: The main difference between Thunderbolt 3 and 4 is that version 4 has a top speed of 40Gbps can be maintained at any length, and version 3 slows down after about two meters. So this cable is essentially the same as a 2m Thunderbolt 3 cable as long as it can transfer 40Gbps. So you no longer need to splurge on Thunderbolt 4 unless you need to cover more than six feet. But the reason we choose 4 is to guarantee the future. I'm pretty sure in the future the standard will have updates that won't be available for Thunderbolt 3 cables, so you can just get this cable now and forget about it. It can do many things: 1) Connect to an eGPU 2) Fast data transfer 3) Charge your laptops and Thunderbolt 44 devices) Charge your USB-C phones This is a quality cable that I've gotten and have had for years should last, if not the end of a decade. However, at $60, the short length doesn't justify the benefits over version 3, so now you DO NOT NEED it. Stick with Thunderbolt 3 cables until prices drop.
