Big people, rejoice!

I go hiking and camping a lot and my regular jogging pants are not suitable for cold weather. It doesn't get very cold where I live so I didn't need huge layers of wool, I just wanted something that could be worn on its own and worn underneath if needed. I finally found her in these pants! I went hiking this morning, the temperature started at 35 degrees and ended at 50 degrees which is about the coldest I've ever walked in. They kept me warm but didn't overheat me or make me sweat like other fleece pants I have. .I'm 5ft 8 but my legs are longer than my 6ft husband's so it's always a big struggle to find pants that fit me. I usually agree that training leggings are a bit short when it comes to training leggings, but since their purpose is warmth, I really wanted them to be long enough to cover my ankles. I ordered longs and am shocked and happy to say they are very long! Even I have to either fold them about two inches or let them ball up, which I don't mind at all. I'd rather have them too long than too short. Today I folded them and then put them in my hiking socks and they felt great. I'm a regular size 6 and ordered medium. The seller's photo shows that these pants hit just below the belly button, which is what I like best. As you can see in my picture they go much higher than mine which I don't really like. I could fold them down but the waist pockets make them fold in a weird way. If I'm picky, I wish they had a little more compression, at least in the waist. Thanks to the high waist and soft compression, it gives me a little fullness in the middle. But there's nothing wrong with that, it's just my vanity. The seam at the bottom of the leg is a little odd and wraps around which isn't a huge issue either, just odd and I hope it doesn't cause any odd chafing issues. Overall I am very happy with these leggings. I'm doing a 15 mile hike this weekend and the forecast says snow on the summit so I'm glad I have these to keep warm! UPDATE: I've worn these leggings a few times on hikes in the cold. the weather including every 3 inches of snow and I was seriously hung. They kept me warm without overheating. I slipped on my butt twice in the snow and after I brushed the snow off my pants were completely dry. When we were sledding I wore them under a more waterproof case and they were perfect. Too high waist/not enough abdominal compression still bugs me, but it's worth it.
