I had the opportunity to use this toothbrush on my 40lb Greyhound. My dog doesn't mind having his teeth brushed and sits down every night for the procedure. I had used a finger brush before but found it too big for her mouth and the plastic bristles too hard. However, this dual headed brush has a good fit, the bristles are fairly soft and the dual head allows for both targeted brushing of the inner molars with a smaller brush and a wider brush with a larger head for more front teeth. I use Petrodex with brushing and have found that any onset of gingivitis can be stopped by daily brushing for 3-4 minutes. I have not attempted to remove the tartar directly from her teeth as I am concerned that scraping off the metal without polishing could damage the enamel. Any localized tartar is more of a cosmetic problem unless gingivitis is present. So this is a very good brush and so far it has held up well to daily brushing. Highly recommended.
