Review on πŸ’ͺ Efficiently Dispose of Waste with the Waste King Legend Series 1 HP Garbage Disposal with Power Cord - (L-8000) by Samuel Hansen

One of the best buys for this money is a direct replacement for ISE Badger

Item is exactly as described. I, like many others, replaced the old ISE Badger with this machine and it is second to none for quality, functionality, noiselessness etc. She loops everything in seconds (instead of smashing her on camera for multiple cycles like Badger). Badger's original install came and worked the first time. I am very happy with this item. However, there is one thing I would like to emphasize; I read somewhere that if you use the EZ mounting system that comes with the kit you don't need a plumber - you can just use a gasket. This ONLY applies when using a flat rim stainless steel sink, and even then a rubber gasket is optional, as opposed to putty (you can only use putty or gasket with a stainless steel sink, not both). It's better to say you NEED tap water putty, and if you have a stainless steel sink you have the option of using a thin rubber gasket (I would use tap water putty). Aside from that small detail (which made me unexpectedly run to our local hardware store), this unit is great. And the last thing I'm gonna say is silence. I've read some reviews talking about how quiet or not it is. I don't understand the desire for a whisper-quiet garbage chute. What I mean is leaving the water running while cleaning and the full sound of the faucet hitting the spinning basket creates a noticeable noise level anyway, plus I want to be able to hear the charge of disposal , so I know when it's clear. This device is by no means loud, but I just don't see the desire to switch to ultra-quiet. That big Waste King boy is great too.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Has been damaged
