BEAD isn't actually a bead and is made of a soft plastic material (like rubber?) that sits more comfortably on the ear - WHAT you don't feel if it's in the wrong place and can hurt a bit - but we're probably used to everyone or? The ELASTIC REALLY holds up well and is easy to sew into the fabric. They are very soft and stretchy without feeling wearing a piece of strong rubber band over your ear - nobody wants that.
