They're ok - Not as useful as expected - Too expensive for the benefit they offer

First impression: They're ok. All peripherals including packaging look very cheap. I have purchased light strips for $25 in more impressive packaging. This angle cut is evident in the rest of the product. Hue 'Bridge' (white box with big button) seemed very cheap, the cheapest plastic box they could find with a really cheap big button. The bridge power supply was the most pathetic power supply I've seen in 4 years (in terms of material selection). To be fair, it doesn't look like you'll be plugging and unplugging it that often. If I had to cut corners on an already overpriced product to keep the price down, I would also start with a cheaper adapter. The real quality is in the lamps. These bulbs are solid and of good quality. I expected them to last a very long time. However, I bought them while trying to turn my room into a smart alarm clock. That does not work. The dim settings of these lamps are too bright to be used effectively as a night/alarm lamp. I wake up every time the lightbulb drops to 1%. In addition, these lamps do not have the brightest light. If you just need a pop of color in a casual space, they might work. However, for €140 I expected something more useful. Also, they only work properly with Alexa. Alexa is very specific about what words you need to say to turn the light on or off. Attempting to adjust the light with a simple voice command proved much more difficult than expected. In the end, it was more convenient to adjust the light in the phone app than in Alexa. I guess I never realized how useful and easy a simple light switch is.
