Big improvement over Sony STR-DN1080

Edit2: up to 4 stars because Denon has supplied a device that fixes the output error listed below. This is a solid receiver that delivers great sound and video. I'm just a bit disappointed with the 4K HDR 120fps issue and the time it took to fix it. makes it impossible to display 4K/120fps output from Xbox Series X, PS5 and next-gen Nvidia cards. Denon is working on a fix, but according to Denon this fix is not a firmware fix. This also applies to Yamaha receivers and other brands of this generation, so the buyer should be careful whether they want to output 4K/120 or 8K. Otherwise, the overview below remains valid. I switched to this receiver from a Sony STR-DN1080 that I recently bought (a year ago). I was frustrated with the Sony model due to an issue with the HDMI/HDMI ARC control that caused the "home screen" to appear every time I switched inputs or turned on the receiver. In comparison, the AVR-X2700H offers a simple setup process and an interface that puts you right in front of your video or audio content. There's no frills in the user interface - when you're not playing content, the Denon simply displays "DENON" on the screen. , Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, Dynamic HDR, HLG, as well as 8K upscaling and HDCP 2.3 support on all HDMI inputs (unlike Sony, which only supported enhanced output on some inputs). I look forward to testing 4K/120, expanded gaming features and dynamic frame rate support on new gaming systems coming out this year. an important element in my purchase decision. I am very happy with my purchase. Overall a great receiver, you won't be disappointed.
