If you're one of those people who lock their DSLR in a hotel room because it's too heavy, get the D5000. As a result, you'll have more shots and they will NEVER be worse than the D80/D90. If so, then you need to improve your technique :D I won't revise the specs ([.] already did, better than me). I just want to reconfirm what I said about high ISOs - just amazing! I recommend the DK-21M eyepiece magnifier as an indispensable accessory. Makes a normal pentamirror viewfinder much better. Be sure to remove the hard eyecup from the DK-21M and use the included DK-24 eyecup instead. Along with this camera I bought 35mm f/1.8 and 18-105mm VR lenses. An absolute pleasure to use. Just like the Flash SB-400. It's great not to be lugging around "professional" gear and a bag of lenses and still get great photos with this little girl.
