Super simple always works

I have used this Continuum Dock with my Lumia 950xl in two ways and was surprised how easily and perfectly everything worked for both setups. The first time I used it with a regular USB keyboard and mouse, I plugged it in. to my Roku TV with an HDMI cable so I can have some computer functionality in my TV room. This worked without problems on the phone/continuum side. At first, the edges of the image were cropped, but I found that I only needed to set up the HDMI channel on the Roku to keep it from overscaling. This seems to be the default setting on most TVs, leading boarders to err on the side of working as a monitor for any type of PC. The second setup involved connecting the Continuum to the iomega KVM switch so I could toggle my keyboard, monitor and mouse between my PC and Windows phone with the push of a button. The Continuum connects to the KVM's USB socket with a single USB cable, which hasn't caused any problems, even though I'm using a gaming mouse with lots of buttons, lights, etc. The KVM's video output is DVI- so I had to use a DVI-I HDMI adapter for the Continuum. Again, on the continuum, this went completely smoothly and worked great on the first try. I had to disable mouse emulation on KVM because mouse emulation would not allow working with a mouse that has more than 3 buttons. After installation it works great. Now I can switch to my desktop, laptop, or Windows phone in a second using the same keyboard, monitor, and mouse. It is great. A little more about Continuum itself. Once connected, you can log in and use almost all of your apps as easily as if it were a desktop. You can enter text with the keyboard, set the location on the map with the mouse and, perhaps most importantly, you can access your single drive in Windows Explorer just like a regular folder. This is a very convenient way to transfer files from computers to your phone and back in large groups. It's true that I don't get much benefit from it, but if I do, it's worth the convenience. It's so awesome and has so much potential that everyone should stop using Apple and Android and get a Windows phone so they can keep making them. As a bonus, Continuum charges your phone. Every time your phone is connected to this "charger”, you can immediately use it as a PC. I haven't had any issues with this device and would highly recommend it if you think you have multiple options for it.

Pros
  • Supports Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 connector. 3.5mm stereo audio output + 3.5mm microphone input.
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
