Disappointed good for cases

I ordered this case a few days ago for my dad's iPad mini 2 and it arrived literally the same day, after that it was fantastic. After opening the article and seeing if the iPad Mini 2 would fit, the tablet's outer shell looked great. The material is pretty solid and nice, and the indentations on the stand were pretty good too, but it didn't last long. As soon as I closed the lid of the case with the iPad attached, I heard a clicking sound that you would hear when closing the screen. After the screen closed it lit up again (mind you the iPad Mini 2 didn't have any existing issues as it's fairly new and I know it works great with the KHOMO case I originally got). The screen stayed on every time I tried to set the case so it wouldn't turn back on. There is webbing on the case and I thought maybe tying it together would help, but that didn't work either. Basically, no matter how I tried to adjust and hold it, my screen stayed and had to be rotated by hand and then turned back on. The cutouts in the lid have a raised portion that sticks out between them and prevents the lid from staying flat, allowing the screen to stay in place. Although I told myself it wasn't an expensive case, I decided to just return it for a full refund. Why buy a case where the lid doesn't cover the screen to allow the iPad battery to drain? It surpasses all its purpose except shield protection.
