Review on OtterBox Defender Generation Retail Packaging by Brittany Howard

Fit varies by Portable Audio & Video

This is the third time I have purchased this bag. The first one had a big cut in the screen protector (never made it to the screen. My iPod still looks new thanks to this case) and started to break from taking it off so many times to clean it. Everything else was perfect. I bought a second one and the rubber had gaps around the plastic on the top corners, the screen protector was a little "dome" (you could see it touching the screen when you touched it and there seemed to be a lot of dirt on it left between my iPod and the screen protector) and the plastic part of the case didn't seem to close properly. I eventually got fed up with the "dome" screen protector, plus the plastic eventually broke (I dropped it once, so it must have happened. Again, the iPod is still in great shape), so decided I myself to buy a third . one. Everything seemed perfect; There is no gap between plastic and rubber, the protective film of the screen turned out to be flat. I was as happy to have what I thought was a good case as my very first case for this iPod. Not correct. My only complaint is that the plastic part doesn't stick properly again, causing the screen protector to 'flex' even worse than my previous one. I have some leftover packaging from my previous cases and have checked everything I can; Apparently these are the same cases. So I don't understand why the fit isn't the same every time. I still recommend OtterBox cases and will always do so. I've dropped my iPod and iPhone from different heights (not on purpose, I'm just clumsy), sat on them, etc., and the devices themselves weren't damaged at all. I've added a video to show what I mean by "dome". You can see how the light gets distorted when I click on the screen. This is the "bulge" of the protective film.
