Loved this first book in a new series by one of my favorite authors! Rebecca smashed it out of the park with her world (again!). It sucks me in immediately. Wolf (previously released sporadically on Kindle Vella) is a full-length novel that introduces us to the Volks of Silver Pack. Mia, a disgraced former FBI agent, heads west after her profile as a serial killer has unsettled her with the rest of her team. Believing she's lost her lead, she moves across the country from DC to Seattle to lick her wounds and try to give that lead back to her former team. Along the way, she stops to spend time with her retired ex-partner, who has become the sheriff of their small fishing village. He asks her to tell about a recent ritual murder in his town. Little does she know her prime suspect is much more than meets the eye. Set Wolf joins the circle that rules this city, yet somehow remains an outsider. The other members seem hell-bent on pitting him against his stepbrother, his adoptive father isn't the rough and scary guy he portrays to the world, his future is predetermined (at least he thinks he is, until he meets Mia) and all of a sudden he becomes the prime suspect in a series of murders he's trying to solve. With a few twists at the end that no one expects, this debut novel in the Stope Packs series is definitely worthy of a TBR list. I can't wait for the next one!
