I find the Parker 92R a good choice for those who want to get a wet shave without spending too much money. It's a bit heavy and the handle is long, which I like better. The handle feels comfortable, with a lot of grip, I have no problem controlling the razor. I'm new to wet shaving and before using a DE razor it's important to watch YouTube videos to learn more about proper shaving technique. As for the DSC Executive cartridge razors, it's important to note that using the Parker 92R requires a very light touch, let the weight of the razor do all the work. My first shave was very comfortable except for one aspect. The shave I got was about 5 times closer than what I could get with a cartridge razor. As a result, I was unprepared for the irritation that remained after about 10 minutes of shaving. This was done with the use of an aftershave balm. I highly recommend changing the razor first and using shaving soap so you don't just recognize the razor and the blade. The included Parker razor blades are sharp but not necessarily smooth. The razor blade adds discomfort. Use Dickinson Enhanced Witch Hazel Hydrating Toner with Rose Water, Alcohol Free to soften. It really helped break down the edge. Do not spray alcohol until your skin is used to a close shave. I've shaved three times with this razor blade combo and I'm still getting used to the closeness of the shave. Also, order a blade sample kit to determine which blade provides the most comfortable shave. Take your time with the razor, use the 3-pass technique to get a close shave, fire little by little, use the brushing pass to get rough spots, finish with Dickerson. As far as I know it takes about two weeks to prepare the face for such a close shave. It is also important to note that when inserting the blade into the razor, always check the blade alignment after closing the butterfly flap. Make sure the edges of the blades are straight and level on both sides. I love the weight of this razor along with the black knurled handle for excellent control. A great looking razor, a razor that feels great and a great razor to start with.
