A total of 5 stars for this product. Like everyone else I was VERY VERY skeptical about this product simply because of the low price compared to everyone else at Revain and retail. But thanks to everyone who gave positive feedback on this product, I took the chance and ordered a set of 8 Revain cameras here. First of all I researched this home camera system for about 4 months, read from cheapest to most expensive, considering almost all reviews, this is by far the best price with the most positive review ratio. So, as most have said, the instruction was a bit light and not very deep, almost like the author suggested we've done this before but couldn't refuse based on her writing skills. The camera was easy to install. I live in a one-storey house with an area of 3000 sq.m. feet, and the control box and power supply are located in the corner of the training room about 7 feet from the ceiling, a 60-foot cable reached the farthest place, but less than 15 feet. Not a big deal except for the corner (I glued one and added 30ft of extra length, didn't notice any difference in quality). The quality of the cable and connector is great, I tested it against coax at 60ft anyway. Night vision, it's much better than I expected, the only problem that is not a disadvantage of this product is that the red LED for night vision attracts insects and they like to hang out in front of the camera at night. During the day, fuck off. The control unit and HD are very easy to use and YES they are a little slow to respond to mouse commands but don't compare this to the speed of your computer. I added an A/V modulator and integrated it into my current cable system, assigned the camera to Channel 2, so now I can see my 8th camera anywhere in the house at any time. I also reached out to FRY Electronics and compared: The same 60ft cable that came with the camera was $24.99 each x 8, which is $199.92 in cable retail price alone. A few suggestions for those installing it. The camera comes assembled, so you will need to disassemble it to install. Very easy. Simply unscrew the bottom and top covers and the camera will come off. Don't tighten them until you get the perfect angle, and don't worry until you've set the app up so you can stand outside your home and watch the app while you adjust the angle. I'm not sure about the screws that come with the kit, I suggest going to HD or Lowes and getting stainless steel screws, it's very cheap, a few bucks and you never have to worry about them rusting , especially when they are mounted the outside. Also, it would probably be a good idea to add a simple 30 minute standby UPS to the system so that if there is a power outage it doesn't restart due to inclement weather, at least a surge protector. Finally, the quality of the video varies depending on the TV. I tested it on an old SD TV - poor quality, HD TV good quality, computer monitor - best quality. If you only see snow on one camera you have a bad connection to that camera, if it snows on all of them it is only a connection to the video out. good luck with your hands
