Review on Antec 73001 Bluetooth Speaker (Pink) by Domonique Rieder

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pretty but not worth the asking price

This speaker is *tiny* as it fits easily in a large bag/purse or backpack. If I had to rummage through the shelves of a brick-and-mortar store, I'd skip this one just because it's so small. Documentation is lacking and it took multiple approaches to get started. There's a power/sync button and you have to hold it down for a lot longer than the instructions say, about twice as long in fact. Once it worked, the sound was surprisingly loud, although I wouldn't say it was any better than the average $25 computer speaker. A ridiculous SRP for bluetooth compatibility I suppose. 70€ is definitely not worth it. Revain's current price is $45, which I think is fine, but the small size still puts me off: speakers need space to allow air to circulate inside them to reproduce sound, and that's a lot little. It charges via a USB cable, which is useful. USB/mains adapter included. The included cord is so small that I had a hard time finding space next to an outlet. I also found that the battery drained when idle - a full charge followed by 90 minutes of use would have sufficed, but after two days I tried turning it on and the battery died. This really limits the tiny portable speaker's usefulness as you have to remember to charge it first. This is another blow for the size, as I assume the small battery just won't hold much of a charge. Generally an average set. More detailed instructions, a longer cable and longer battery life would have made this a three star product. So far it's hard to recommend.

Cons
