DO NOT DEPLOY October 2015 Update! On my SECOND player: I had to FORMAT it (read: erase everything and re-sync!) because it crashed every time I tried to sync it to add new music. I CONSTANTLY get an error saying the song format can't be played because it's not supported. For real? The song has been endorsed dozens of times! Hm. The only solution is to plug it directly into the computer (I can't even turn it off because it freezes), wait some time while it starts charging, and then unplug it. Wait for it to "create itself" and then select a song from the playlist you listened to 2-3 days ago. If you're halfway through a playlist, consider yourself lucky that you're wasting time skipping over songs you've already heard when you're not in the mood to listen to them again. If it freezes, you might be lucky and solve the problem simply by turning it off. (Yes - lucky!) CHARGE: not very, not very. After blinking to let you know the battery is low, plug it in to charge, it takes less than 10 minutes and it claims to be fully charged. NO! Do not be fooled! I'm not sure if it even fully charges. I'm still hoping that the next version (because we all know those manufacturers - hello Apple? - just MUST update/release new additions) will fix the problems this one is having. Attention Sony! I've had it for 1 week and I think it will come back. It freezes without warning and if I'm lucky I can "fix" the problem by turning off the power. If not, you'll need to connect to a computer and hope it works. I hate the fact that the device goes into HOLD mode when I press the pause button (which I do a lot because I hear it at work and pause when someone shows up). I've tried sending a message to Sony to fix the HOLD issue, hasn't worked yet. I'm not going to mess with it, so I'd rather return it and hope the other one works. This is my second Walkman. I liked the first one (which was bigger, showed better on screen and didn't stop when I paused!) until it recently died after 4+ years. Unfortunately, the old ones are no longer made. Was hoping for less than half. Not understood. REPLACEMENT Update: Since I have the same problems as 1st and 1st, I forgot to warn about: 1. Freezes2. It keeps showing "FULL" when charging, but it's not. It takes longer to charge! 3. Annoying HOLD option. Pause and after a few seconds it goes into HOLD mode. Unlike my last one, you can't just press the center button to start playing again. Waste of time and useless. Sony has serious problems with this version. I tried Lonve and it was so cheap and complicated (I didn't even download all the songs in the playlist) that I returned it. Until I find something better than this Sony (it's NOT Apple!), I'll stick with a definitely inferior product. Sony's "help" isn't really helpful if you even understand what they're saying. If you buy this, good luck. Just don't expect much.
