I've been playing video games for a long time. I played the original Pitfall on my father's work computer circa 1991. Then we got the Famicom from Nintendo (like the same NES), then I had the Sega Genesis, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4. I haven't played Nintendo games in a long time and I was dying of my own franchises, exclusive to Nintendo. Good old ones like Mario, Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Sar Fox, etc. While I love my PS4, the Nintendo franchises have a uniqueness that can't be found anywhere else. There are some really good PlayStation exclusives out there, and XBox1 users are sure to find some exclusives to enjoy. But when it comes to exclusive intellectual property, Nintendo has the upper hand. These are the franchises my generation has been playing since birth. I missed the Wii, but the most interesting thing about the Wii U is not only that it has AWESOME games (anything related to Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda or any of the others I mentioned above, plus a few others), you can also play your old Wii games on it, so the library becomes endless immediately. So yes, I bought Wii games too. just ten years later, that's all. Generally speaking, if you enjoy playing or want to play games with your family and friends, Nintendo systems are designed to do just that. Again, PS4 and XB1 are both great systems but they don't measure up when it comes to local multiplayer, once again the crown goes to Nintendo. Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Nintendoland, Mario Wii U, Mario 3D, Donkey Kong, Yoshi and more are great fun games for kids and adults alike. They make great party games and are easier to set up than board games. The system comes with a gamepad that resembles a handheld console or tablet. This is used for all menus and for most games. Some games use this pad intentionally, such as B. Nintendoland, which sometimes gives the owner of the controller a special task that sets them apart from the rest of the group. (I'm only speaking metaphorically) with the Wii U. The system didn't sell well and didn't live up to Nintendo's expectations of it. With this system, the company made several crucial mistakes: The main mistake was the release time. Depending on how you look at it, the Wii U was either released too early or too late. Too late to compete with PS3/XB360. Too early to compete with the PS4/XB1 released a year later with much more powerful computers and full 3rd party support. This confused consumers and developers alike, as the PS3 and XB360 were already established as top contenders with huge game libraries. And from a third-party developer's point of view, the system was cross-generational, there was too much work to do to develop next-gen games and try to port them to the Wii U hardware, and most importantly, not profitable enough to justify it. A problem. You may have many accessories available for the system. There are many fakes, but the quality is below the baseboard. If there's one thing Nintendo is known for, it's quality products. If you can afford it, I recommend buying officially licensed Nintendo products (controllers and the like). In summary, poor sales doesn't mean the Wii U isn't a great system. This is one of the best and most fun consoles I've ever owned. It's like the Wii on steroids. I bought it two years ago and have never regretted it. Marketing blunders from Nintendo mean this console has had a short lifespan compared to other systems, but there are plenty of great games you can't play anywhere else. Add to that the library of Wii games, and oh my god, it's never over. should you get one definitely yes if you find a good deal now! Much luck!
