This is a fantastic watch for the Medical Professional or anyone who really wants a reliable and functional watch. After 6 months, they show the time to the second, as shown on my cell phone watch. So he keeps time very well. I've showered in it, swum in it, and skydive in it, so it's proven waterproof and airtight too. He, too, has been cornered and dropped many times, and he keeps ticking. Initially, I bought the non-backlit version, but the glow of the hands in the dark wasn't enough for night shifts. I'm glad I switched to backlighting. It flickers a little, but it might be time for a new battery. It is very comfortable to wear. The loop that holds the end of the strap in place sometimes slips off during the day, but is easy to reattach. The dial is very easy to read and I love that the seconds hand is red for counting vital signs or IV shocks. I would highly recommend this Speidel watch for its durability and functional dial.
