Review on 🧣 Tonten Cashmere Shawl Winter Pashmina - Women's Accessories, Scarves & Wraps by Linda Porter

This is a really nice, very large and very soft scarf. It's big enough to wear as a scarf and feels warm. However, the scarf I received arrived untagged and crumpled in a tattered plastic bag that was not even sealed and partially opened. I guess I expected a good scarf to arrive flat and folded nicely in a mesh bag or gift box - stupid of me. At least the bag, which is likely to wear out, bears the Tonten logo and states that it contains a premium cashmere scarf. and that's it for fabric composition or care information. A label with this information + country of origin is not sewn on the scarf as usual (a Made in China sticker is stuck in the lower right corner of the bag). The product description says this scarf is 90% A-cashmere and 10% silk, and it probably is. Maybe it will look nice after steaming the creases too. Now it's indistinguishable from the cheap polyester scarf my granddaughter had to dress up in 10 years ago, all crumpled up in a crumpled mess in the back of her closet. I'm far from a textile expert and while this scarf looks very pretty and is soft to the touch, it doesn't really feel like a well made scarf. I know cashmere is labor intensive and the resulting yarn can be knitted, woven or felted but I think the edges will be finished. The scarf has nice fringes at each end, but the sides of this scarf appear to have been cut from a larger piece of fabric and the edges appear raw and don't even seem straight. I would also think that the highest quality cashmere would be very expensive. I ordered another Tonten scarf at the same time which came a day later - nicely packaged with tags so I don't know what happened to it. This. I rated it two stars because it can be used if not given as a gift, but it's not worth three stars because it doesn't even meet the minimum expectations. I'm disappointed and have no choice but to recommend this scarf, even at $24.99.
