Nice desk lamp

I'm comparing the Splaks/Baseus lamp ($36) to the PROSmart lamp ($44). Conclusion: Splaks/Baseus is better, but both not very good. Both lamps fit. on top of my thick Dell 2407WFP monitor and my thin 40" Samsung UN40KU TV/Monitor. PROSmart attaches a little more securely to a Samsung TV as it has an additional spring clip attachment method. The Splaks light is based on gravity and friction and doesn't have a spring clip. That difference doesn't matter much. The control of the Splaks flashlight is better in one important respect. It has a switch at the very end, making it easy to find in a dark room. The dimmer button is also located at the end and is easy to find in the dark. In a dimly lit room without good overhead lighting, it's hard to see the icons on the PROSmart that point to specific clickable spots. Pressing invisible buttons on PROSmart is less intuitive than the physical button and button on Splaks. The brightness on Splak is a continuous gradient. The PROSmart brightness consists of four preset values with the brightness button, as well as an adjustable gradient controlled via the power button. Controlling the brightness with an on/off button and a separate brightness button are not intuitive. I prefer Splaks' stick controls. Both lamps will remember your brightness and color temperature settings the next time you turn them on. This is a softer warm light. The warmest PROSmart mode is too blue for my liking. If you like the bright mode, PROSmart advertises a higher color temperature setting, but the Splaks light gets brighter at the highest setting. The light on PROSmart appears to be more directional/asymmetric, straight down and at an angle that includes a triangle shape. The light from Splaks scatters downwards in all directions. It advertises asymmetrical lighting, but that's not true. The lack of asymmetrical lighting on the Splaks light causes significantly more glare than the PROSmart due to the light reflecting off the monitor. Glare causes eye strain. I've also found that I don't use these lights all the time as there is enough monitor light and they don't look good on the eyes. The Splaks light does not save any settings when switched on and the light starts to work at full brightness. These light sources help illuminate my desk in a dark room and provide my desk and keyboard with a more directional light than an overhead light. I don't think they do anything to protect the eyes. If anything, they appear to be harmful to the eyes. In fact, these are optional products. You will not change your job. When plugged into the monitor's USB port for power, they turn on and off with the monitor. Splaks light is marked as Baseus i-wok on the body and packaging of the product. . Other flashlights are sold under the Baseus brand, so I'm not sure why does the Revain product page say splashes. The Splaks light comes with an extra USB hub which I don't need as all my monitors have at least one unused USB port. .BenQ Screenbar is recognized as the best product in this category.
