I have been using the Edwin Jagger DE89 (https://www.amazon.com/Edwin-Jagger-Double-Safety-Regular/dp/B003LW4L2W) razor for eight years now. . When I got into double-edged shaving, I thought of the Merkur Futura, which seemed too expensive to me. When I saw that the Merkur patent had expired and I could buy a copy for about $16, I thought "Why not?". So here are my thoughts after a few shaves with it. The case is made of brushed stainless steel with a nice finish. It's a comfortable weight and balance in your hand, and its weight is all you need for a close shave. Okay, enough of that, let's talk shave quality. I am very impressed with the result of shaving with this razor with Astra blades. A much smoother shave without skin irritation! Getting that close shave with the Jagger required at least two passes and often left my skin red and irritated. Although I've only had the Qshave for a few days, I'm so pleased with it that I've retired my Jagger razor as a replacement. That speaks volumes! If you shave with double-edged razors or are tired of paying exorbitant prices for blades that end up in landfills, do yourself a favor and buy one. If you're thinking about switching to double-edged shaving, get Astra Platinum blades and Van Der Hagen soap, and a decent shaving brush. Start with a low setting (1 or 2) and gradually increase your comfort level. You won't look back! To be clear, I paid full price for this product and the other products I have mentioned and am sharing this information in the hope that it will help others make the right purchasing decision.
