Wireless car chargers are still an imprecise science in my opinion. Manufacturers haven't yet settled on the optimal design and function, so they come in a wide variety of shapes and designs with many different functions. This one hits the most keys and I think it only misses one. Here's my breakdown: Key benefits: β’ It provides enough power to charge your phone even when the screen is on (when using navigation for example) β’ The clamp mechanism works well and holds the phone securely β’ The clamp stays open so it ready to go when you need it. β’ There are touch buttons on both sides to open the clip. β’ Charges well through the case and also holds the phone perfectly in the case. β’ It uses a more modern type of USB-C connector. The only thing he lacks is a small battery or capacitor that allows you to open the clamp even after the car is parked. It works great in my car as the accessory stays on even when I remove the key from the ignition. However, in my wife's car, the accessories turn off as soon as she removes the key and her phone gets stuck in the cradle. Otherwise this is a really good charger.
