The more I have it, the better I use it becomes. The roll top allows longer and odd shaped items to be packed away when needed. The top zip protects contents if the bag falls or tips over. The outside pocket holds your phone, keys, and anything you need quickly, and attaches with a magnet without the hassle of buckles (it's just a decorative item). Two deep side pockets easily hold two water bottles. Plenty of pockets and storage space inside. The canvas is stiffer than most backpacks but keeps its shape which I like. The shoulder straps aren't overly padded, but unlike many backpacks, they fit my narrower shoulders. The handle is well fixed and convenient to use. The straps that secure the rolled up top are easy to use, there are no buckles to struggle with and they stay snug on the bag when closed. This is my first canvas backpack but not my last.
