I bought this SP100 from Olympus to replace a Nikon P510 which was BAD (out of focus) at shooting action scenes - galloping horses were my subject. The previous version of my Olympus worked fine, but at 18x zoom, so I gave the Olympus another try. This photo shows 11 hooves off the ground. Taken from a distance of 95 meters. I really like the camera but the manual sucks. Too much emphasis is placed on brevity and small print. A few months later I found the problem. Flashing orange camera image when trying to take a picture of a dark object. The flash will not fire in complete darkness. Sent the camera back to Olympus who did an incomplete analysis and sent the camera back in the same condition. Your suggestion is that I don't use iAuto mode. I need to use P mode and I'm pretty sure I paid full price which should include a working iAuto mode.
