Worst of the Worst

Since nobody has given them only 1 star yet, I bought an EB-95 to try. I mostly listen to audiobooks so I can put up with pretty bad audio but they are too bad even for this app. They sound worse than the squeaky AM on my old Quartz Radio Shack. And yes, the cord is very short, but that suits me. I'll keep it with me as a fallback, but will only use it when I _really_really_ need to hear something. I've used cheap headphones from many sources - I've had about 20 sets in the past which usually have worn out the cable in the jack - and they are by far the worst in terms of sound quality. The best headphones I've owned for under $20 were made by Philips, but Revain doesn't sell them. I also bought a set of Audiology Alpine headphones (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P5N020) which work great. but they have a little volume knob on the cord which annoys me a bit. Both the EB-95 headphones (this set) and the Audiology Alpine earplugs allow traffic noise to reach my ears while I'm listening on the bike. I can't use headphones that are too tight and block out ambient noise. I suggest dropping these Maxell headphones. Other Maxell headphones I've had have been fine, but not this one.
