The play mat is a nice big real mat. The print on it shows a path through a zoo or park. The weird thing is that dinosaurs are randomly added at the top of the print. One was actually on a mother and child walking in the park. My granddaughter didn't seem to mind. I thought they could be a little less obvious that they used a rug that wasn't made specifically for this product, so they explicitly added dinosaur designs. Your information book was interesting. Best of all, it all fits into a tote bag with a lid. Overall I'm happy with the product and it makes you laugh to see where the dinosaurs "landed" on the carpet. Trees look pretty cheap and don't cost very well. The same thing I've seen with other dinosaur toys or toy trains. The dinosaurs themselves are big and colorful. You stand alone, some needed some help to make it with a slight curve. We played for hours.
