Buttons do not control anything, the display cannot be adjusted

Except for the first day I plugged this monitor in, the buttons didn't do anything. The buttons cannot turn the device on or off, nor do on-screen customization menus appear. I'm a professional artist and not being able to customize the display is a big problem for my work. It's a shame because I really want this monitor to please me.
