I love this vanity stand. I use it to keep all my makeup brushes organized so I can remember which brush I use for which color or part of my makeup. It's solid, a good weight and doesn't tip over easily - I wouldn't say it does, but if you just put a two-year-old next to it, it's sure to tip over! I want to buy another one because sometimes I had to throw away all the brushes to use the crayon holder. This small acrylic coaster is perfect for this purpose because the coaster doesn't add any distracting colors or tints and keeps my pencils in the same order as my test marks, which I make on scrap paper. This speeds up the search for the desired color. I think it's great that it has 2 holes of different sizes. The smaller holes are the back two rows. In the slightly larger holes in front I stick thicker pencils (some Derwent) and "Tombow Mono Zero" erasers shaped like a ballpoint pen. I also found I could sneak into the thick fluffy blush brush I use to brush eraser crumbs off my painting. Sometimes when I'm reaching for a brush or other pencil, I'm so focused on my painting that I forget to take my eyes off what I'm doing and instead bump into the acrylic stand, almost knocking it down! Several times I was saved by its solid base that held tight. Only downside: I don't like the machine mark left on top of the acrylic base. It's a little smaller than a dime and looks very uncomfortable. I'm not sure why the manufacturers didn't design it so that the machine mark is at the bottom and therefore invisible. With the car make at the top, the stall looks more like a second one being sold than the first. I wrote to the suppliers and they said this is not a second and they are just made that way. I'm not sure I really believe that. Luckily for them, I want the stand to outweigh the ugliness of the pockmark on the top.
