Review on 💻 StarTech.com USB C Dock: Dual Monitor HDMI & DisplayPort 4K 30Hz - Thunderbolt 3 Compatible by Adam Nelson

I am updating this review due to potentially catastrophic power/battery issues in the MacBook. I stopped using this dock after my first 2020 MacBook Air mysteriously wouldn't turn on. for after 2 months. Since the computer wouldn't turn on, Apple couldn't figure out why he didn't die in time to give me answers. Before the end of computing, it was used on this dock to run other peripherals and a 4k monitor. I had a recurring problem with my laptop not charging while using a document or being plugged into the docking station overnight. Interestingly, the energy is also discharged at night, in sleep mode or when switched off. I believe this dock draws power from the computer and may not charge it. I just woke up to find my new MacBook was 72% charged and 100% shut down all night. This is similar to my first computer. So far this has only happened when connected to this docking station. A few days ago I was using Apple's HDMI output and had no battery or charging issues. Now Computer 2 has the same power issues when docked as Computer 1. I would not recommend using this dock with a MacBook.
