there are 2 of them one is defective the second one i bought doesn't match the picture at all and came with an old one crappy remote control with no shortcut buttons and a pair of cheap, uncomfortable headphones that were probably worse than the ones they give you on the plane,, to the credit of the salespeople, when I informed them of my displeasure they immediately agreed, they agreed send new remote controllable headphones and headphones - in-ear / noise-isolating headphones without question. But as for the faulty one, I've read some other reviews that say the HDMI port is faulty because the content protector isn't communicating properly due to broken, bent, or just plain worn pins. HDCP, I think the error caused the screen when viewing a video file makes it unusable. I've tried several different cables and several different TVs and monitors to confirm that the device is indeed at fault. Love the fact that you can plug in an external hard drive, use it with the PLEX media server, and listen discreetly through the remote's built-in headphones. I also like the ability to "send" media data there from certain computer and mobile phone applications. I wish wireless bluetooth headphones were an option, the headphone cable gets in the way. . I could, but plugging a portable bluetooth audio transmitter and an extra cable into the headphones could probably even power the bluetooth audio transmitter device via the built-in USB port. Hmm wondering if a USB hub would work with this. Time for a test!
