I have 3 sets of earlobe piercings that get very irritated with earrings other than gold or titanium and don't like friction. I wanted to have three pairs of tiny gold sleep rings that I can insert so they don't irritate or get stuck. I have two pairs of titanium colored hoop earrings from this company which I really like and bought in 6mm, 7mm and 8mm. I saw reviews that said they were really difficult to close and open, but other rings I have from this company weren't like that, so I figured people just don't understand how to close earrings. I was so wrong These earrings have so many great things: hypoallergenic, cute, beautiful gold color that showed no sign of fading after weeks of showering and daily spraying of hypochlorous acid piercing care spray, 24/7 comfortable to wear and sleep in. but they are very difficult to insert and close and I have not tried to take them out but I think I will need two needle nose pliers and a friend to help me with that. When I took it out of the box, I couldn't open it with my fingers. I ended up inserting two invisibles in the middle of the hoops and pulling the rivets to open the earrings. It took a truly shocking effort to open it. Yes, I PULLED these things and that was what it took to open them! When I put them in my ears, I really struggled to close them. A tremendous amount of force is required to close them completely, which is very difficult to muster with the rounded rings in the earlobes. With tires that narrow, it was also very difficult not to pinch me with the hinge, which hurt my irritated ears a lot. It took me almost an hour to get two sets in my earlobes and my average pair of piercings, the ones I wanted 7mm for, were too small for this caliber so I got 6mm hoops, studs and then 8mm rings in my ears which look good but not exactly what I wanted and the gold color couldn't be tighter. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to someone with sensitive piercings who wants to put these hoops on and wear them for a long time, but if you plan to change your earrings often I don't think this is a good choice. If you're a parent looking for piercings for your young child, they definitely won't go missing, but getting them can be stressful for your child, and the fact that I've pinched myself a few times lets me think you should go there you. Be careful if you need them for this. Perhaps not every pair of these earrings is like this, but you should be aware that at least some of them are and consider that when making your purchasing decision.
