As good or better than expected

I bought this DVR to replace a Zosi I bought 6 months ago that stopped working properly. I installed 4 1080P cameras, 1 960H camera, 960H PTZ camera and another poor quality camera (D1?). They all work perfectly. Image and motion look as expected, even the 1080p cameras don't twitch. The PTZ camera has worked flawlessly so far. I'm using one of the 1080p cameras as the weather cam. I have a script that captures an image every minute using ffmpeg and then uploads it to Weather Underground. I was surprised how easy it was to use the rtsp available on the dash cam. A 50 inch flat screen TV is connected to the DVR via HDMI. The display shows 4 cameras at the same time, 2 of which change every 5 seconds. Configure the first screen to display cameras 1, 2, 3, 4 and the second screen to display 6, 2, 7, 4. This allows us to display 6 cameras in a 2x2 split screen, with the PTZ Camera displays all time as it is constantly monitored. I am very happy with this purchase so far.

Pros
  • PLUG & PLAY - This Amcrest DVR transmits video, audio and control over a single coaxial cable. Leverages existing coaxial cable networks, reducing the need for new cabling for your security system. Additional cameras can be purchased under ASIN: B07NVXSP8Q.
Cons
  • No Auto Mode
