can't replace watch strap

I tried to replace the strap. I like the watch but the band is uncomfortable. So I bought a new band which I tried, the jewelry store tried to take the old one off. and the group I bought is much better than the ones out there. I wanted to put a nice, comfortable band on it and put it on. Someone tell me how to remove this stupid streak.
