Review on πŸ”’ Delta Lockwood 79010-PT Glass Shelf, Aged Pewter, 24-Inch by Michael Long

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Yes. Is it expensive.

But you get what you pay for. It's a heavy, solidly constructed item. That's the first thing I noticed when unpacking the shelf. When strong, well-made items make your boat float, sailing that boat will make you happy. Once assembled it looks great. A typical word for the wise: Nothing is going to be square in the room you hang this shelf in, so it's best to have two things on hand. Enough time so you don't feel rushed during installation and have a 3ft level handy to weigh everything down. First things first, I had to level or weigh the mirror under which the shelf was going to be hung, since everyone who hung the mirror did so with one side three-quarters of an inch lower. After installing the mirror, I had to align and "correctly position" the wall hangers so I could attach the shelf brackets to it. I don't care how good you are, as long as you care and little fractions of an inch hurt your eyes and make your muscles twitch, this type of project is a huge PITA. But, as always, when a project is complete, the extra effort is worth it. Also, by making things transparent and square, it keeps the other half happy. Overall yes compared to other shelves available I find this shelf more expensive but once installed you will have an extra shelf and you will both be happy. and proud; money well spent.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
