Update: The company has contacted me to let me know that they have received complaints of plastic buckles breaking and are transitioning to metal buckles. They are designed to ease installation and carry no weight. I will update again when I get new straps with metal buckles. Was about to install this. I followed the instructions but put on the tree protectors and then put on the spring loaded strap which the instructions said should be worn tight. Even with a very hard pull, the plastic piece you screw it through broke. I figured one must be defective and tried the other (it comes with an extra). It broke right away too. I don't like the strength or safety of this product! I send everything back.
