I love this thing! If, like me, you are fascinated by the moon, you will love it too. When the internal LED lighting is off, it looks like crappy white plastic, but turn on the light and you'll be amazed. Also looks good during the day. The light can be adjusted to two levels of brightness, both of which create beautiful and realistic nighttime lighting. And this isn't just an approximate image of the moon's surface, this is an accurate three-dimensional image, clearly drawn from a map. The light stays on. for hours and runs on a rechargeable battery that can be charged with the included USB cable. The stand is the same as the picture, simple but functional. me somehow after sending. I was worried that the 5" diameter might be too small, but it works great on my shelf, even when I'm looking at it from across the room. I can always get a bigger one later. My only concern is that this thing will be useless when the internal battery runs out of charge because it's not replaceable, but so far so good.
