It kept me dry and it smelled amazing! Unfortunately

I tried Schmidt Rose + vanilla for the first time, in the original formula. It kept me dry and it smelled amazing! Unfortunately, it also caused me severe skin irritation. I suspected it was the baking soda in the formula, so I decided to try the sensitive skin formula. I found the coconut and pineapple scent to be a bit odd for deodorant, but thought it could smell tropical, fruity, and pleasant. So the good news is that I feel like it works pretty well without causing any irritation. It's now in the middle of my work day, I'm still dry and normally the burn would have started with the original formula and I'm feeling good. BUT. The smell is TERRIBLE! It has patchouli in it, and I usually like patchouli. Trouble is, patchouli completely overwhelms coconut and pineapple. So when deodorant gets into your pits, it smells ONLY like patchouli. And for those who are familiar with the smell of patchouli - mixed with BO it has a kind of unpleasant musky smell. I remember sitting at my desk smelling rose + vanilla and feeling like I was in heaven; Today I can smell patchouli just sitting here doing nothing and I want to go home and clean my pits because they smell bad. I wish Schmidt's would release the sensitive skin versions of the fragrances already in their original formula, specifically Rose + Vanilla (my favourite!), but maybe also Bergamot + Lime and Ylang Ylang + Calendula. I will try another of their scents for sensitive skin and see if it works better.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Not the best
