I really wish the iPad Smart Keyboard/Some thin Apple cases had a built-in Apple Pencil slot. It's not perfect, but I think it's the best solution on the market (and the price is good too). The color matches my iPad smart keyboard and the case itself looks beautiful. The elastic isn't tight, but it's definitely tight enough when placed around the case (rather than the iPad itself) that it stays in place without me having to manipulate the elastic to tie it or otherwise tighten it. My only complaint is that when using an iPad, the iPad doesn't lay flat if you leave the pen holder on the case. You must remove either the Smart Keyboard case or the keyboard from the iPad or the iPad will not lay flat. I don't think a leather case (or a textured case) will sit flush with a case/smart keyboard when using an iPad, so it's a matter of utility and quality/appeal.
