Light brown says on the outer packaging. Tan is written on the inside zipper for capsules. However, the actual color is definitely not light brown. It's almost black and I only left the product on for 30 seconds. I've been using the eyebrow product for about a year and this is my second order. The powder in the capsules from my old box is dark brown and the powder in the new capsules is dark grey. I have very light, naturally blonde hair and my eyebrows are so light they're almost invisible, so the capsule version got me a little alarmed. Luckily I only left it on for 30 seconds because my brows are almost black now. It's not terrible, but it's definitely not the look I was aiming for as now I just look like I'm bleaching my hair. I thought maybe it was just a bad box so I ordered another one. It has a light gray powder in capsules. As I'm still waiting for my black brows to go away, I can't try this third color just yet. I will, though, because prior to this color fiasco, I would have given this stuff a 10 if I could. I would recommend to anyone starting a new box to only leave the product on for a very short time to ensure it matches the color expected.
