Review on DR 1 Commander Radio Chest Harness by Jeremy Gulledge

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor quality and flawed design

This vest is very cheaply made and generally has a lot of design flaws. I wore this for a 3 day shift while working as a lifeguard in the desert. One of the straps is already breaking from the threads and the velcro is already worn out. I bought this because it looked like it was a first responder's first aid bay, but it clearly wasn't. The way the radios are placed on the outside of the main pocket gives the feeling that the radios are hanging forward and not staying pressed tightly to your body, which is very annoying and bouncing around. It has buttons to try and help this, but they don't help. The way the strap attaches to the radio also has disadvantages as it starts at the bottom of the bag and not the top so you have to reach down and pull the strap out every time you pull the radio out. There is also no space on the straps to attach a microphone. I really thought it would be a better vest because it costs more than other vests and has higher quality stitching but the quality and design is terrible. I want to get a different vest or model, otherwise they will repair the product and send me a new one.
