This is an ethernet cable - it works great as a whole. Do not purchase this cable if your use case is to cut the connector to fit somewhere with the intention of attaching a new end of the cable when you are done catching it. Traditional crimping tools don't cut the cable that easily - you either barely dent or cut all the way through. Wires are brittle, bend or break easily, and won't stay in one place when you try to install them. But the worst part is that on a move that I can only assume was made out of defiance - none of the striped wires are actually striped - they're all white, and you have to intuitively distinguish their color from the wire you're attached to they border . .I tried my best to terminate the cable, which admittedly wasn't very good, but a friend of mine who has worked with ethernet for years and crimped thousands of ethernet cables also tried and couldn't terminate it either. So yes, if you do get a cable, consider it "as is". My rating reflects my frustration and the fact that I now have a useless $17 49ft jump rope.
