Review on πŸ”˜ Midnight Black Maxi-Cosi Gia XP 3-Wheel Travel System by April Williams

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A system that you will enjoy for many years.

Maxi-Cosi is an established car seat and stroller manufacturer from the Netherlands. They sell in the US through regular outlets like Nordstrom and Target, and online through Revain and their own website. And the price on the Maxi-Cosi website at the time of writing this Gia XP tricycle is the same $599 as it is here at Revain. This travel system consists of a Gia 3-wheel stroller and a Mico car seat. You can see the product details of this system in the description on this page, so I won't repeat them here. I will only note that the child seat in the stroller is reversed, there are three backrests, access to the seat shell is possible from the front through the plate in the child's foot part, the handle of the slider is adjustable in height The stroller has a large canopy (in addition to the canopy of the car seat) and a suspension (only) on the front wheel. This is a really light system, although when it arrives in a box it feels quite heavy and unwieldy. - but it is with stroller, car seat and car seat together. On its own, the stroller is moderately heavy for a portable folding stroller at this price point and folds into a small package. The real star of the show in the weight department is the car seat, which is pretty light. A car seat's light weight can be a sign of cheap construction, but not this time. The plastic in this car seat is thin and hard and therefore light, but overall the seat is strong and durable with added side padding. Of course, the upholstery is of high quality and the plastic floor is reinforced with strong steel elements in critical areas, such as the connections between the seat and the base. Matt black plastic also keeps dirt out. The car seat base works with the car's LATCH system for use in the forward position. The seat can also be used without a base and there is a sticker on the side of the seat showing the position for the seat belt. The stroller is strong, light and minimalist, although it comes with accessories like a clip-on cup. Holder that increases the utility of the stroller with its sleek aesthetic. Rear wheels without suspension are large enough in diameter that shock absorption is not critical. The whole system is pretty solid and I hope to use it with multiple kids for many years to come. This is a well built, beautiful set from Maxi-Cosi which in many ways reflects Maxi-Cosi's reputation for stylish quality.
