They fit tight like baby pyjamas, making them great as pajamas or as a base layer. My daughter is a size 10 and the medium fits well but I can say they will fit a smaller child too so I think the medium size designation is good for an 8-10 child. If it was a little bigger, these would be too small. My daughter finds them soft, warm, comfortable and cute and she loves to wear them to bed and sometimes under other clothes (when we go skiing for example). They fit snug enough to be worn under another layer, such as a B. jogging pants or loose jeans. They're also reasonably priced, so I think they're good value for money.
