I started with the hard case. It took a few days for me to return it. I liked Apple's leather case, but it was quite expensive. A little more research and I discovered the Woolnut case. It's very similar to the Apple case but at half the price. It also opens on one of the short sides, unlike Apple's configuration. This gives me easier access to the laptop while it's still in my carrying case and allows me to charge it without having to take it out of my sleeve. As others have noted, it's very snug upon receipt, but after about a week of use, the leather will stretch and make it much easier to slide the laptop in and out. I sped up the process by slipping the correct size book into the case and leaving both in the sun for about an hour. This warmed the skin and accelerated the stretching process. Now it's perfect!
