It doesn't work and now there is no help.
Bought the product, put it in my MacBook Pro. It recognizes this. Great everything seems fine now I want to backup my laptop to it. I tried to create a backup with the time machine and then for some reason it was no longer recognized and the icon on the desktop disappeared. Now I have no idea what's going on, tried calling, tried chatting but they are closed. Restarted my laptop, unplugged and plugged back in my external hard drive, and even plugged it into my wife's MacBook and still nothing. I now have a $200+ 1TB external hard drive that should be plugged in and ready to use, but it's not working. I have no support or help and all I feel is anger for trying to buy something quality but instead I received a terrible product and service. Don't waste your time with this product, buy something else.
